Lead Attorney Product Specialist Role Summary: CoCounsel, part of Thomson Reuters, is seeking a Lead Attorney Product Specialist to join our Trust & Reliability Team. As part of the Product Management Organization, you will play a crucial role in upholding the reliability and value of CoCounsel, the world's first AI legal assistant. About the Role In this opportunity as a Lead Attorney Product Specialist, you will: Develop segment-specific product content and functionality by identifying needs, workflows, and success criteria for key customer segments (e.g., law firms, in-house teams, practice areas), and translating them into actionable product inputs. Work closely with internal and external teams to develop and execute product programs and initiatives supporting the latest artificial intelligence and legal technology solutions on the market. Develop, test, and validate the latest uses of generative artificial intelligence technology for use in the legal industry. Develop a deep understanding of our customers' pain points and goals to articulate clear and differentiated value propositions. Lead the development of advanced use cases for attorneys utilizing the CoCounsel platform, demonstrating thought leadership in the application of AI to legal practice. Utilize independent judgment to assess CoCounsel's ongoing performance, providing strategic feedback to our team of engineers and data scientists to drive continuous improvement. Take initiative in client engagements, providing expert assistance to Enterprise clients and contributing to the strategic direction of product development. Draft guidance materials (e.g., playbooks, best-practice guides, prompt guidance, enablement content, in-product or help-center content) that support adoption and effective use of CoCounsel. Act as a mentor to junior team members, guiding them in the nuances of legal technology and prompt engineering. Identify innovative pathways for applying generative AI within legal practice. Carry out market research and analysis, collating both internal and external insight through qualitative and quantitative research, to help drive direction and priorities for our products. Understand current product portfolio and positioning, buyer & user personas, competitive environment, and market opportunities. Deliver and support development of high-impact product marketing activities that drive and support product awareness, client usage and retention, market leadership, and enable new sales and up-selling/cross-selling across the legal technology portfolio. Gather info from appropriate business partners to create customer communications when necessary. Coordinate with other Thomson Reuters divisions and teams on select ad hoc projects. Your background should include: Juris Doctor and Bar Admission (any jurisdiction) required. Minimum of 7 to 10 years' experience in a law firm, government, or in-house setting. Minimum of 1 year experience conducting LLM validations and evaluations is a plus. Computer proficient with strong understanding in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace. Substantial experience using a variety of online legal research and practice tools (e.g. Westlaw, Practical Law, Lexis, Casetext, Relativity, Intelligize, Everlaw, etc.) Experience in the use of legal technology is required.
