Summary This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Responsibilities You will establish, maintain, correct, and close pay accounts for active, reserve, or retired armed forces personnel and their annuitants. You will determine pay, conduct payroll record maintenance, and complete reports pertaining to civilian employees of the Federal Government. You will ensure accurate and appropriate supporting documents are submitted prior to payment for travel pay. You will examine and perform the final audit on travel claims/vouchers to determine that the claim contains a proper authorizing official's signature, certify the accuracy of monetary entitlements, and authorize travel claims/vouchers. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Analyzing budgets and maintaining ledgers adhering to required laws, rules, and policies; 2) Creating and maintaining reports, spreadsheets, and budget summaries for management; 3) Providing support for travel-related purchases and expenses for other employees to ensure they are within budget and relevant; and 4) Providing various accounting, budget, and financial management support for different and potentially unrelated situations within an agency. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education Additional Information This announcement uses the Certain Personnel of the DoD direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet the pre-employment requirements, including failure to report to any of the scheduled appointments.
