Summary The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will serve as a member of the Primary Care PACT Team (Patient Aligned Care Team) that consist of a Provider, Registered Nurse (RN), and Advanced Medical Support Assistant (AMSA). Performs a proper and successful phlebotomy procedure and deals with complications that may arise. Uses variety of phlebotomy techniques to ensure that the proper collection of specimen samples meets laboratory requirements. Properly collects, labels, prepares, and stores lab samples according to laboratory specifications. Labels specimens per guidelines and policies. Maintains compliance with established processes: turn-around time expectations, collecting and handling specimens, proper documentation of sample collection. Computer skills, including Microsoft Word, MS Teams, and Excel Professional and effective verbal and written communication skills. Assists in daily workload and other duties as assigned. Physical Requirements: This position requires visual acuity, keen hearing, clear distinctive speech, and manual dexterity. This position requires potentially long periods of continued walking, standing, stooping, sitting, bending, pulling, pushing, lifting, and transferring during administration of patient care.
