The Department of Human Services is seeking a motivated and energetic Equipment Operator A to join our transportation and grounds team at Clarks Summit State Hospital. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will operate facility equipment and light- to medium-duty vehicles (trucks, vans, buses) in compliance with safety regulations to support transportation, maintenance, construction, and seasonal snow and ice removal. Responsibilities include performing excavation, repair, and installation work for utilities, roads, sidewalks, and landscaping using tractors, backhoes, skid loaders, mowers, chainsaws, forklifts, and related equipment. You will restore sites to the original grade after construction, remove trees and stumps, and maintain facility grounds. Additionally, you will provide patient and group transportation, conduct preventive maintenance and minor repairs on equipment, prepare and operate snow-removal operations, and instruct staff on equipment use. You will also effectively prioritize tasks and adapt to changing work demands to meet deadlines.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. You will work a rotating weekend and holiday schedule. A 12-hour shift is required every 5th or 6th weekend. Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Six months experience in the operation and maintenance of large vans, buses and single-chassis trucks with a gross vehicle weight of 10,001 pounds or more; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements: This position requires possession of a valid Class C Pennsylvania driver's license. Other Requirements: You must meet the PA residency requirement.
