The Psychiatrist is responsible for providing psychiatric services to adults, children and adolescents experiencing mental illness, developmental disabilities, and/or substance use disorders. Services may be provided face-to-face or via telehealth (as regulations permit) and include diagnostic evaluations, assessments, and ongoing medication management.

The provider is responsible for ensuring appropriate psychiatric and pharmacological interventions are provided and is expected to collaborate effectively with the treatment team to ensure the best possible client outcomes.

Under general supervision, provides comprehensive medical services by examining patients, diagnosing conditions, and providing treatments. Directs nurses, aides and others in the care and treatment of patients.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Reports to Center Director, with oversight by Medical Director

Promote a Team Approach, work collaboratively with other medical providers, nurses, clinical and clerical teams.

Demonstrate initiative, enthusiasm, and a positive and flexible attitude; must respond well to changing and rapidly shifting program needs.

Effectively communicate with people of all educational and cultural backgrounds

Provide excellent client care - is empathetic and supportive to our population while also maintaining good boundaries.

Engages easily with clients and families impart a professional and non-judgmental attitude.

Other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Medical degree (MD, DO) recognized by the Georgia Composite Medical Board (GCMB) AND licensure or license-eligible to practice medicine (psychiatry) at a state institution or in the state of Georgia, and is Board Eligible or Active Board Certification in Psychiatry

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in an outpatient mental health setting.

Knowledge and experience using Carelogic Electronic Records System.

Strong written and verbal communication skills and proficient in the use of computers and electronic medical records.

Strong time management skills, completes documentation within 24-hour agency deadlines, maximize scheduling to allow for 80% billing of time worked; is open to seeing walk-ins for other med providers.

Possess thorough knowledge of diagnostic psychiatric assessments and utilizes best practices in treating clients with SPMI diagnoses, Development Disabilities and/or Substance Use Disorders

Requirements/Competencies:

Must be able to lift 20 pounds.

Requires long periods of sitting/standing.

Must have valid Georgia driver's license and Motor Vehicle Record in accordance with company policy.

Candidates for selection must pass a criminal background check (including fingerprinting)

Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and subject to random drug screens.
