Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Construction Technician to assist with building erection work involving iron, steel, and metal. The role involves erecting pre-engineered buildings, bolting steel joints into place, guiding beams, running insulation, and performing standing seam flat roof work.

Responsibilities

Assist crew in erecting pre-engineered buildings.

Bolt steel joints into the correct position and guide beams into place.

Run insulation and bolt on siding.

Engage in standing seam flat roof work.

Essential Skills

Minimum of 2 years experience in steel/iron erecting of pre-engineered buildings.

Proficiency in operating scissor lifts and boom lifts.

Ability to interpret blueprints for pre-engineered buildings.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with standing seam roofing is a plus.

Certification in boom/scissor lift operation.

Work Environment

Work involves both outdoor and indoor settings, occasionally in dirty conditions, requiring a hands-on approach. Projects span commercial buildings, institutional facilities, medical centers, food processing plants, industrial sites, warehousing, and retail spaces. Employees work Monday to Friday, with 8-hour shifts starting at 7am, and must communicate if they desire overtime. Travel is within a 60-mile radius of Fort Wayne, with compensation for travel beyond 50 miles.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Wayne, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.
