Accounts Payable Clerk

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Hopewell, Virginia. In this long-term contract position, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate and efficient processing of financial transactions for our manufacturing operations. If you are detail-oriented and skilled in managing invoices and payments, this is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities:

Accurately process invoices, including coding and verification, to ensure timely payments.

Perform regular check runs and reconcile payment discrepancies as needed.

Review and match invoices to purchase orders and other supporting documents.

Maintain organized records of all accounts payable transactions for auditing purposes.

Communicate with vendors to resolve billing issues or discrepancies.

Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting regulations in all payment processes.

Collaborate with other departments to address and resolve payment-related queries.

Assist in preparing reports and summaries related to accounts payable activities.

Monitor accounts payable systems and workflows to identify areas for improvement.

Support month-end and year-end closing activities related to accounts payable. Requirements - Proven experience in accounts payable, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Proficiency in coding invoices and managing payment processes.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial transactions.

Familiarity with check runs and invoice reconciliation practices.

Excellent communication skills for interacting with vendors and internal teams.

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.

Knowledge of accounting principles and relevant software systems.

High level of organizational skills to maintain detailed records.
