POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is in the Office of Financial Management, reporting to the Revenue Management section. This is a full-time position that works closely with FDLE's financial information and is responsible for ensuring that data is accurate, protected and in compliance with accounting standards. This position requires excellent customer service skills as it will require interacting with internal and external customers.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specific duties include:
Invoicing customers for conducting criminal history checks;
Generating monthly customer invoices in the Revenue Accounting Management System;
Working with customers regarding their account balances, working past due accounts and overpayments, and researching issues as they arise;
Identifying accounts for collections and write-offs; and
Preparing additional reports as needed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and procedures;
Knowledge of the methods of data collection;
Ability to analyze and interpret accounting data;
Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to an accounting program;
Ability to plan, organizes, and coordinates work assignments;
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing;
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others;
Ability to utilize problem solving techniques; and
Ability to use computer software skills, including BEGINNER skills in database/spreadsheet software, including but not limited to Microsoft Excel and Word.

BACKGROUND:
FDLE requires an extensive background process of all recommended applicants. The elements of a background include: financial credit check, criminal history of applicant and applicant's immediate family or roommates, personal references, employment and education verifications (which includes official transcript(s)), drug screen and fingerprinting. This information will be utilized to make the final hiring decision.
NOTES:
Preference will be given to current FDLE members who have satisfactorily completed at least six months of the probationary period for their current position.
