Summary About the Position: This is a Lead Paralegal Specialist, GS-0950-12 position with USACE, Ft. Worth District, Office of Counsel located in Fort Worth, TX. Responsibilities Review Record and Non-record Title Evidence for compliance with applicable standards of the Corps of Engineers and the Department of Justice. Assist attorneys with selected assignments and/or selected phases/parts of legal issues presented during the review of title, preparation of Pre-acquisition Title Opinions, curative title work, acquisitions, closings, etc. Administrative/Paralegal Support for travel, timekeeping, procurement of supplies, services ad equipment, etc. Serve as alternate in providing legal assistance and general support to staff attorneys with the preparation, research, development, and maintenance of files for cases. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Preparing discovery responses, administrative records, opinions, legal pleadings and/or briefs on matters such as real estate, contracts, procurement laws; AND 2) Coordinating with legal element chiefs to obtain information to recommend disposition of Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request; AND 3) Leading teams in distributing and balancing workload and tasks and monitoring progress of work. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
