Operations Manager

Description

Take 2 Recycling is looking for a motivated and hands-on Operations Manager to lead day-to-day operations at our Waterbury, CT facility. You will play a critical role in supervising facility operations, managing resources, leading a high-performing team, and collaborating across departments to achieve operational excellence.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Develops and implements plans, programs, and procedures

Monitors progress and workflow of department personnel, resolves challenges whenever possible and reports progress or needs to upper management

Reviews data collected by direct reports and identifies needs or trends. Adjusts activities and resources based on fluctuating internal and external customer requirements

Generates reports indicating overall functional performance of work cells and individual employees

Metrics include but are not limited to hours spent, headcount, incoming raw material, current work in progress, finished goods status, and materials shipped

Analyzes and presents relevant data and findings during regular meetings with team and management

Maximizes product generation through continuous improvement, resource management, applying lean manufacturing concepts, and collaboration with other departments

Offers assistance and instruction to employees as needed

Motivates, inspires, and develops direct reports in accordance with Take 2 Recycling mission, vision, and values

Promotes a safe and secure work environment

Trains new employees on operations functions and maintains training records for all direct reports

Delegates job duties to ensure employees are completing jobs properly; Conducts competency evaluations as needed

Ensures product quality by coordinating regular product inspections and developing process improvements based on customer requirements and feedback

Monitors and maintains supplies, tools, and equipment while maximizing usage and minimizing costs

Maintains compliance standards

Maintains work areas in a clean and orderly manner while maximizing warehouse space and product\supply placement

Supports the Sales Departments

Reports, document, and handles emergency situations

Other duties assigned as needed

Base Compensation: $70,000 - $100,000 per year

Position Requirements

Technical Skills:

Previous experience leading a fast-paced manufacturing, warehousing, and/or lean manufacturing environment is required

4 years' experience directly managing 10 or more employees including, coaching, disciplinary action, and development preferred

Medium to advanced electronics or computer repair/diagnoses experience is a plus

A+ certification or additional certifications and/or similar documented training is a plus

Experience with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Outlook

Experience with manufacturing ERP or SAP systems is a plus

Forklift experience a plus

About the OrganizationEWASTE+ is a R2/RIOS Certified Electronics Recycler ITAD company and a licensed NAID AAA Certified Data Destruction Contractor.

EWASTE+ focuses on the recovery of value from idle, obsolete and excess electronic equipment and operates a large-scale processing facility in Victor, New York (near Rochester) and two regional consolidation facilities in Albany and New York City. In 2025, EWASTE+ expanded its footprint by adding Take 2 Recycling, based in Waterbury, Connecticut, enhancing its service reach across the Northeast.

The company utilizes environmentally sound processing methods that maximize value and recovery while eliminating disposal of electronics in landfills. EWASTE+ has been recognized as a Rochester Top 100 Company for five consecutive years and was a recipient of the Rochester Business Journal Environmental Leadership Award.
