Description Assists therapist in the delivery of behavioral health services to children in a therapeutic day camp setting. Essential Job Functions + Facilitates the camp programming + Implements daily programming and scheduled activities as instructed + Monitor the behavior of the children in daily programming activities + Redirect as necessary with regard to safety and appropriate interaction with staff and peers + Facilitate constructive participation in all facets of the day camp + Assist therapists in documentation + Document / report daily observations of children's behaviors + Document / report progress with respect to treatment goals + Maintain a safe environment for patient and others + Consistently demonstrates use of equipment specific to age of patient served + Consistently demonstrates use of procedures specific to age of patient served + Consistently identifies biopsychosocial and spiritual needs specific to age of patient served + Provides age appropriate education to patients and families. + Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications + High School Diploma, GED or higher level of education. + College credits in Education, Psychology, Social Work or related discipline. + Minimum of one (1) year experience with children/adolescents in behavioral health, educational or child care setting. + Strong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking skills, sound judgment. + Strong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience. License, Certification & Clearances + PA Act 153 Clearances (Act 34-PA Criminal Record Check from the PA State Police system, Act 33-PA Child Abuse History obtained through the Department of Public Welfare, Act 73-FBI Fingerprint requirement). Supervisory Responsibilities + This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities, but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work + Incumbent will be scheduled based on operational need (rotate shifts, standby, on-call, etc.). + Travel may be expected locally between Excela Health locations.
