Construction Project Estimator

Job Description

Analyze project plans, specifications, and blueprints to determine the scope of work

Conduct site visits to assess project feasibility and identify potential challenges

Research and obtain budgetary estimates for materials, labor, and equipment

Prepare detailed cost estimates that include material costs, labor costs, equipment rentals, permits, and overhead

Track and monitor project costs throughout the construction process

Prepare cost reports and variance analyses to identify cost overruns and implement corrective actions

Stay up to date on current construction methods, materials, and costs

Update Standard Estimating Tool for use by Project Managers at sites

Develop and Lead estimating training for Project Managers and Planners at sites across the enterprise

Domestic travel required

Skills and Requirements

5+ years of experience in project planning and coordination

5+ years of experience reading and understanding engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and specifications

5+ years of experience in Material estimating

5+ years of experience preparing time, cost, and labor estimates

5+ years of experience with Estimates at Completion, Data Analysis, and/or Budgeting/Cost Performance Reporting - Bachelor degree in Construction Management

Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering (civil, mechanical, electrical), architecture, or construction management

Knowledge of tracking and monitoring project costs throughout the construction process

Familiarity with current construction methods, materials, and costs
