CAD Manager
We are seeking a detail-oriented and process-driven CAD Manager to oversee the delivery of CAD production, quality assurance, and reporting for a fast-paced, multi-project environment. In this role, you will manage a team of CAD drafters, ensuring workflows are optimized, deadlines are met, and design outputs consistently meet high standards of quality. The successful candidate will be adept at balancing competing priorities, tracking progress across multiple projects, and providing actionable reports to stakeholders. This role is critical to ensuring our projects are delivered efficiently and to the highest levels of accuracy and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:
Production Management:
Coordinate and oversee the production of CAD deliverables across multiple concurrent projects, ensuring efficient use of team resources.
Assign tasks and set priorities for CAD drafters to satisfy project timelines while managing competing deadlines.
Monitor project status and team workload to reallocate resources or adjust schedules as needed.
Serve as the primary contact for project managers and stakeholders to plan CAD workflows and establish timelines.
Quality Assurance:
Develop, maintain, and enforce CAD standards, guidelines, and best practices to ensure consistency across projects.
Conduct regular quality checks on all drawing outputs to confirm accuracy, adherence to standards, and compliance with project-specific requirements.
Lead initiatives for continuous improvement in design quality, ensuring team members are trained on updated standards or software features.
Troubleshoot complex design problems and provide technical oversight to resolve issues effectively.
Promote attention to detail and accountability within the team to minimize errors and revisions.
Reporting and Metrics:
Track and monitor team performance, project progress, and quality metrics, providing regular reports to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
Analyze team efficiency and production trends to refine processes and set achievable, measurable goals.
Provide data-driven insights to support accurate forecasting of workload capacity and resource needs.
Team Collaboration:
Act as the main liaison between the CAD team and engineering, architecture, and project management teams, ensuring alignment on project requirements, schedules, and deliverables.
Foster seamless communication across project teams to resolve issues that may impact CAD outputs.
Collaborate on cross-functional initiatives aimed at improving workflow, software utilization, or organizational efficiency.
Software and Technical Oversight:
Maintain expertise in CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Visio, or similar) and ensure team members are proficient in their use.
Stay informed of advancements in CAD technology and recommend upgrades or tools to enhance productivity and quality.
Lead software transitions, updates, or training initiatives that minimize disruptions while improving team capabilities.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience.
5+ years of experience in CAD drafting/design or Team Management in a production-focused role, with 2+ years of experience managing workflows in a multi-project environment.
Exceptional organizational skills, with a proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliverables in a fast-paced setting.
Strong knowledge of CAD production standards, quality assurance processes, and technical design principles.
Proficiency in industry-standard CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Visio, or similar).
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present progress reports clearly and concisely to stakeholders.
Analytical mindset and experience with performance tracking, reporting, and process improvement.
Clearance: must have interim secret clearance OR active secret clearance preferred.
US Citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience managing production and quality control in industries such as construction, engineering, manufacturing, or architecture.
Familiarity with project scheduling or tracking tools (e.g., Microsoft Project).
Certification in CAD software or related professional development training.
Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams to improve efficiency and quality.

The likely salary range for this position is $97,968 - $126,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.

Paid leave and paid holidays are prorated based on the employee's date of hire. The GDIT Paid Family Leave program provides a total of up to 160 hours of paid leave in a rolling 12 month period for eligible employees.
