Robert Half is working with a busy CPA firm seeking a highly organized and dependable Administrative Assistant to support their tax services during peak tax season. This role is critical to keeping client workflows, documentation, and deadlines running smoothly. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced professional environment, communicates clearly with clients, and has experience working with CCH tax and practice management systems.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as the first point of contact for clients via phone, email, and in-person interactions, delivering a professional and welcoming experience

Manage client intake, document tracking, and workflow using CCH (Axcess / ProSystem fx / Practice Management)

Assemble, process, and route tax returns and supporting documentation accurately and efficiently

Maintain electronic and physical filing systems in compliance with firm and regulatory standards

Track tax return statuses and ensure deadlines are met during peak season

Coordinate with accountants and tax preparers to support day-to-day operations

Schedule client appointments and manage calendars as needed

Assist with e-filing, engagement letters, extensions, and client correspondence

Handle administrative tasks including scanning, data entry, mailing, and billing support

Requirements

Qualifications

Previous administrative experience in a CPA firm or professional services environment preferred

Familiarity with CCH tax software strongly preferred

Strong attention to detail and ability to manage high volumes of work accurately

Excellent organizational, time-management, and communication skills

Comfortable working under tight deadlines in a seasonal, high-pressure environment

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and document management systems

Professional demeanor with a strong commitment to confidentiality
