This is not a remote position. Hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at DPS headquarters in Des Moines.

Job Description:
The Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) provides investigative support and expertise to law enforcement within Iowa. The DCI conducts and coordinates complex criminal investigations with local law enforcement agencies and is the primary criminal investigative and enforcement agency for providing regulatory support at state-licensed casinos.

Join the support operations team that compiles case reports for use in court and other investigative matters.

· Other people often ask you to proofread their work.
· You were secretly thrilled when the teacher made the class handwrite a page out of the dictionary.
· Your vocabulary is colossal; your grammar is irreproachable.
· There are people who would testify that you are better than average with Microsoft Word (advanced formatting, use of macros), are familiar with Adobe Acrobat Pro, and can format reports and exhibits to create an excellent end product.
If yes, then plead guilty and submit your confession in the form of a cover letter and résumé.
NOTE: This is not a remote position. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at DPS headquarters in downtown Des Moines.
Additional Requirements
Candidates must successfully pass a comprehensive background investigation conducted by the Iowa Department of Public Safety investigators before a final letter of employment offer is delivered.

Minimum Qualification Requirements
Applicants must meet at least one of the following minimum requirements to qualify for positions in this job classification:
Two years of full-time work experience in general office, clerical, data entry/processing, or related work.
A total of two years of education and/or full-time experience (as described in number one), where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university coursework in any field equals one year of full-time experience.
Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes six months of full-time work as an Administrative Support Assistant 2 or eighteen months of full-time work as an Administrative Support Assistant 1.
