Description
Summary/Objective
The Staff Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organizations assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.
Duties/Responsibilities
Perform general accounting and other related duties for the organization.
Assist in the preparation of monthly balance sheets and profit and loss statements.
Maintain general ledger.
Reconcile accounts and assist in closing the monthly books.
Assist in recording vendor bills in the accounting system.
Assist the Payroll Specialist (or equivalent) with the payroll process.
Reconcile bank accounts at least monthly, verify deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
Record and reconcile customer accounts and other financial accounts; manage accounts receivable collections.
Provide outside auditor with assistance; gather necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
File tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.
Maintain knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
Take part in accounting department weekend coverage of the daily duties as needed from May - September.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Assist the Senior Staff Accountant in overseeing the accounting interns.

Requirements
Required Skills/Abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Knowledge of general financial accounting.
Understanding the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
Ability to correctly prepare sales tax reports.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software as well as other accounting software programs.
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding TRMF information, guests, and staff.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or related field required.
At least three years of related experience required.
Work Environment
This position is in an office environment. Evenings, weekends, and holidays are required from April through October.

Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. at times.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., this position regularly requires long hours and weekend work.
