Description We are looking for an Accounting Assistant to join our team in New Canaan, Connecticut. This role is a contract position with the potential for a long-term opportunity, offering a dynamic work schedule throughout the year to accommodate seasonal needs. The ideal candidate will thrive in a supportive environment and possess a strong foundation in accounting and administrative tasks.

Responsibilities:

Process accounts payable transactions, ensuring accuracy and timely payments for under 100 invoices per week.

Manage accounts receivable duties, including recording cash receipts, applying check payments, and updating member payment records.

Handle member billing processes with attention to detail and accuracy.

Maintain office supplies and oversee general administrative tasks as needed.

Collaborate effectively in a team-oriented workplace environment.

Utilize organizational accounting software to manage financial records and transactions.

Ensure proper coding and reconciliation of invoices and bank statements.

Provide support during peak seasonal periods by adapting to both extended and part-time schedules. Requirements - Minimum of 1 year of experience in accounting or a related field.

Proficiency in accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.

Familiarity with bank reconciliations and invoice coding.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Comfortable working in a family-oriented setting.

Experience with accounting software or systems is preferred.

Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
