Location Description
Hopkins, MN is home to our Michael Foods, Inc. corporate headquarters. Hopkins is located 7 miles west of Minneapolis, boasting natural surroundings in a suburban environment that also provides quick access to major travel ways and local restaurants that give our community a distinct character. Located in the Excelsior Crossing building where employees are provided with beautifully landscaped walking paths and water features creating an optimal environment for outdoor and walking meetings, along with the opportunity to take a relaxing walk or outdoor lunch before, within, or after your work day.
Responsibilities
This executive position is responsible for leading the supply chain and operations of a nationwide network of 17 manufacturing facilities with approximately 4000 employees. The position insures reliable predictable performance allowing the organization to grow revenue, market share and profit sustainably.
This position will report to the President of Michael Foods and will oversee and manage Supply Chain (Planning, Transportation, Warehousing) and Operations (Production, Continuous Improvement, Food Safety Quality, Engineering, Asset Reliability/Maintenance) to maximize Safety, Product Quality, Customer Service and Efficiency. Must be an effective leader that builds strong relationships with staff and peers. Utilizes strong analytical and technical skills to develop effective and creative solutions to business challenges. Collaborates with Commercial leadership and functions to coordinate overall network capacity in alignment with sales growth strategies.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversees the creation, revision, and installation of strategic and tactical plans that provide the direction and focus needed to achieve business objectives, including employee safety and food safety/quality.
Directs supply chain and operation leadership staff; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring and appraising job results; and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
Build winning teams through development and growth of employees.
Exceed 99%+ customer service attainment.
Continuously assesses operations via a comprehensive set of key performance indicators. Tracks productivity and performance for manufacturing plants, meeting and exceeding efficiency standards while maintaining operating costs within budget. Maintains performance with historical shrink results while identifying and implementing steps to improve performance.
Focus on continuous improvement methodology to deliver service, reliability, and productivity goals.
Identifies asset reconfiguration needs, creates, and executes action plans to insure consistent, reliable plant performance and operational readiness of equipment through proper maintenance, new equipment evaluation and techniques.
Coordinates with the cross-functional business team to identify and implement the enhancements to products and systems to maximize profitability and product quality goals.
Supports talent planning and maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.

Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university.
15+ years of manufacturing experience, progressing through various levels of responsibility.
5+ years directing multiple manufacturing sites.
Previous experience in leading teams, managing manufacturing processes, production planning, strategic planning, dealing with complexity in food manufacturing.
Demonstrated financial management and achievement of productivity targets.
Demonstrated record of accomplishment achieving results against a comprehensive set of KPIs.
Excellent problem solving and reasoning skills required.
Ability to analyze downtime and financial variance trends, identifying actions to deliver expected performance.
Excellent interpersonal skills needed, including coaching, team-building and training skills. Ability to effectively present information to all levels of the company; plant floor to Board of Directors.
Excellent time management, strong attention to detail, verbal and written communication skills, listening, decision-making, and organization skills required.
Computer skills required, including Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
Ability to utilize technology to enhance the growth/performance of the organization.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
B.S. in Food Science, Engineering, or Management preferred.
Temperature controlled food manufacturing experience preferred.
USDA experience beneficial.
The pay range for this position is $205,754 - $353,897 per year.
