The Colorado Law School at CU Boulder welcomes applications for a temporary Legal Intake Assistant! This position supports the Intake Coordinators in processing applications and correspondence and will assist the Korey Wise Innocence Project (KWIP) with the implementation of its updated intake process. This role includes managing incoming communications, conducting preliminary reviews of new applications for completeness and basic eligibility, and supporting the creation and organization of case files. The position works closely with the intake paralegal and, in some instances, directly builds case files to be assigned to pro bono attorneys for initial screening.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Correspondence:

Review and respond to phone messages, emails, and letters in a timely and professional manner, working closely with staff to ensure accurate and appropriate responses.

Application Review and File Support:

Assist Intake Paralegal with review of new applications to determine basic eligibility and completeness, begin the file-building process for new applications, assist with assigning applications to paralegals at partner law firms for full file development, and provide additional administrative support related to the intake process as needed.

What You Should Know

This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, with an anticipated in-person commitment of approximately one day per week. Some evening and weekend hours may be required for events or time-sensitive intake needs. This is a temporary, part-time position anticipated to begin in early January 2026, and expected to work 20 hours per week.

What We Can Offer

The pay range for this role is $23.03-$28.80 per hour.

What We Require

A bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

What You Will Need

Demonstrated experience working with legal documents and solid organizational skills.

Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting timelines and maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including editing proficiency.

Able to work independently, anticipate staff needs, and contribute to an inclusive environment that reflects the diversity of KWIP's students, faculty, staff, and community.

A positive demeanor, adaptability, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
