Key Responsibilities
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning for assigned Development Functions.
Oversee monthly close activities, including accruals, reclasses, and variance analysis.
Deliver high-impact financial analysis and insights to support decision-making for OPEX, headcount, and strategic initiatives.
Prepare and present monthly/quarterly financial reports to R&D and Finance leadership.
Collaborate with business partners and FP&A colleagues to ensure alignment and completeness of financial submissions.
Drive process improvements and leverage financial systems (e.g., SAP) to streamline data collection and reporting.
Support and/or lead ad-hoc projects, scenario modeling, and business case development.
Monitor key performance indicators, analyze trends, and proactively address risks and opportunities.
Manage, mentor, and develop finance staff, fostering a culture of inclusion, accountability, and growth.

Basic Qualifications:
12+ Years with BS/BAOR
10+ Years with MS/MA or MBA
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field; advanced degree (MBA, MS) preferred.
12+ years of relevant experience in FP&A, with increasing responsibility; experience in biotech/pharma or R&D finance strongly preferred.
Proven track record of supporting business partners and driving financial performance.
Experience with US GAAP, planning/ERP systems, and financial reporting.
People management experience a plus.

The salary range for this position is: $210,375.00 - $272,250.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
