JOB REQUIREMENTS: The Mortgage Operations Manager manages the mortgage
operations team which includes mortgage processing, underwriters, and
closers. This manager will be responsible for day-to-day operations of
the mortgage operations team from pipeline management, assisting with
and being the resource for mortgage lending policies and procedures,
mortgage regulations, secondary market regulations and coaching and
training staff. This position will also collaborate with the Mortgage
Lending Manager to create efficiencies and streamline lending processes.
This person will be responsible for collaborating with other departments
to help create organizational growth, efficiencies, and best member
service. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Lead and communicate all
mortgage compliance changes, including regulatory updates, exam
requirements, and secondary market guidelines. Coordinate related
changes with staff and other departments. Partner with the Mortgage
Lending Manager to ensure an efficient, timely mortgage origination
experience and to conduct regular staff meetings. Serve as the primary
contact for Fannie Mae, FHLB, USDA/GRH, and other investors regarding
underwriting, selling, and funding issues. Manage vendor relationships
with private mortgage insurance companies, title companies, and
appraisal providers. Direct workflow and loan distribution among
mortgage operations staff to maintain efficiency and service quality.
Maintain a strong understanding of credit union policies, procedures,
and services, ensuring operational soundness and compliance. Work with
Appraisal Review to ensure appraisal policies are followed and
compliance requirements are met. Collaborate with processing,
underwriting, and closing teams to ensure timely pipeline management,
minimize credit risk, and support accurate secondary market delivery.
Serve as NMLS Administrator for applicable staff. Act as primary or
backup administrator for origination software, servicing software, and
related mortgage systems. Create operational reports and monthly
production reporting as needed. Prepare for and respond to audit
findings from investors, third party auditors, examiners, and internal
audit; train staff on corrective actions. Support and implement projects
related to the Mortgage Loan Department. Prepare annual reports,
reviews, and investor filings. Represent the Credit Union in community,
business, and industry organizations to support public relations and
vendor relationships. Managerial Responsibilities: Supervises and
coordinates activities of employees engaged in the credit union\'s
mortgage operations functions. Utilize Integrity Coaching to provide
consistent coaching, development, and performance review. Also provide
continuous feedback and reinforcement of policies and procedures. Travel
to branch locations to work with staff for training purposes as well as
following procedures & remaining compliant with regulatory updates.
Plans, prepares, and schedules staff, according to budgets and workloads
to maintain proper staffing & ensure smooth daily operations. Maintains
a highly motivated, well-trained staff and establishes effective
employee relations. In cooperation with your leader (and in consultation
with Human Resources), take responsibility for hiring, training,
coaching, and discharging of staff. Welcomes new staff members to the
department. Develop & maintain a budget. Ensures each staff member
receives proper orientation, training, coaching and cross-training to
ensure quality service. Communicates with other departments and
management to resolve problems and expedite work. Interprets and
communicates work procedures and company policies to staff. Resolves
complaints and answers questions of others regarding services and
procedures. Develops & maintains constructive and cooperative working
relationships with others. Reviews and checks work of staff for accuracy
and content. Provides additional training where needed. Makes
recommendations to management concerning staff and improvement of
procedures. Requisitions supplies as needed for the department. Assists
staff in handling complex situations. Schedules and facilitates regular
staff meetings. Ensures that the appearance of the department is neat,
organized, and in accordance with Credit Union policy. Ensures that all
confidential records in the work area are properly secured each day.
Work Relationships and Scope: Reports directly to the Vice President of
Mortgage & Lending Services. Will have regular contact with management,
vendors, members and employees of the Lending Department. Performance
Dimensions: Must maintain the integrity of confidential business
information and follow all guidelines on confidentiality. Provide
outstanding services to co-workers & members. Possess the ability to
attend to numerous details with frequent interruptions under the stress
of maintaining courteous, effective, and timely relations with a variety

necessary. ** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrates
proficiency in intermediate mathematical calculations, including
interest rate analysis. Skilled in retrieving and entering data within
loan systems and credit bureau platforms. Possesses strong understanding
of the financial and operational requirements of a Credit Union. Upholds
a professional demeanor and appearance at all times. Exhibits excellent
interpersonal and verbal communication skills. Remains knowledgeable of
federal and state regulations governing depositor and lending practices.
Capable of drafting clear, accurate correspondence and reports Ability
to work with a wide range of personalities in a courteous, effective,
and efficient manner. Knowledge and ability to apply current financial
service industry standards, laws, and regulations. Ability to present
ideas, report facts and other information clearly and concisely. Basic
knowledge of the Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Proficient operation of a variety of general office equipment such as a
computer, software applications, @typewriter, copier, calculator,
telephone, copy machine, fax machine and other similar devices or
