About Richmond State Hospital :
Richmond State Hospital is about the people we serve and the community relationships we have developed, dating back to 1890. Richmond State Hospital is a public behavioral health facility operated by the state of Indiana and one of six state psychiatric hospitals within the Family and Social Services Administration Division of Mental Health and Addiction. As part of a newly integrated system of state psychiatric hospitals, we serve consumers across the state as the Eastern Center of Excellence in Mental Health and Addiction Services.
Nestled in northwestern Richmond, our beautiful campus provides a quiet and peaceful environment. Unit-based programming is augmented with campus-wide specialty groups. RSH has been a state leader in evidenced-based medication prescribing to both reduce the risks associated with polypharmacy and optimize clinical outcomes. The hospital clinical and medical leadership collaborate with the unit treatment teams to provide the most contemporary and comprehensive care possible.
Salary Statement:
The salary for this position traditionally starts at $50,024.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.
A Day in the Life:
Treatment Planning & Coordination
Develops and coordinates individual treatment plans that fit clients' aptitudes, education levels, and physical abilities for their rehabilitation therapy.
Prepares and communicates all rehabilitation therapy treatment plan schedules to ensure programs are part of an accepted treatment model.
Participates and reports on quality assurance directives for the rehabilitation therapy department and implements needed activities.
Attends and coordinates all team meetings with other disciplines to determine patient needs.
Participates in Expanded Active Treatment (EAT) program development.
Patient Monitoring & Evaluation
Monitors and records patients' progress to ensure that goals and objectives are met.
Analyzes information from interviews, educational and medical records, consultation with other professionals, and diagnostic evaluations to assess clients' abilities, needs, and eligibility for services.
Staff Development & Performance Management
Recruits, selects, onboards, and trains employees to ensure role responsibilities and expectations are clearly understood while providing opportunities for professional development.
Sets expectations, measure progress, provide feedback, and evaluate the performance of employees to ensure work adheres to quality standards, deadlines, and proper procedures

This position is exempt from overtime compensation for additional work hours which may be required to complete essential functions or other assigned work. Exempt employees may work more than 75 hours in a pay period without additional compensation and must report a minimum of 75 hours per pay period of work hours and/or paid leave taken to receive their base biweekly salary.

Must possess knowledge of trends, best practices, and evidence-based rehabilitation services and treatment for mental health disorders
Must have a thorough understanding of the treatment planning process and treatment-related policies

Education and Experience
Two (2) years' work experience in rehabilitation services to developmental disabilities, mental handicap, or substance abusers
Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy or a related field
You must satisfy the following requirements to continue employment:
Must obtain CPR certification, demonstrate ability to perform techniques, and maintain certification throughout employment.
Individuals should have the ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:
This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.
