Senior Manager of Global Tax Accounting and Operations

Reference #: JR2516442 As the Senior Manager Global Tax Accounting and Operations, you will work on all income tax accounting and compliance matters for PPG across our foreign and domestic locations. By working cohesively with other financial groups, you will handle the development of income tax rates, lead the accounting for both federal and income tax matters and aid in all aspects of accurate accounting for all items relating to income tax reporting. You will report to the Director, Global Tax Accounting and Operations. This is position has a hybrid work schedule and is based in our Pittsburgh, PA. Corporate Location.

Key Responsibilities

Preparation and review of the quarterly and annual global tax reporting, deferred tax assets and liabilities, valuation allowance, SEC tax footnotes and disclosures.

Work with controllers and corporate planning groups to ensure accuracy of the forecasted global effective tax rate (ETR) and cash tax model.

Lead tax accounting support and ongoing training to all regional ETR Preparers.

Perform oversight and administration of OneSource Tax Provision Software including identification and implementation of opportunities for process improvements and technology solutions.

Review journal entries to reflect income tax expense, uncertain tax positions, deferred tax positions, and other related income tax matters in the company's U.S. and consolidated financial accounting records.

Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on our organization.

Support tax planning projects and identify opportunities for tax savings.

Maintain and improve internal controls related to income tax processes.

Help with tax audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities.

Collaborate with teams including Accounting, Legal, and Treasury.

Qualifications

Only U.S. Citizens, Green Card holders, and political asylees or refugees are eligible to apply.

A bachelor's degree required with at least 10 plus years of accounting for income taxes, ASC 740 income tax provision experience.

Experience working in a large multinational publicly held company.

Experience with the tax accounting impact of complex tax transactions recommended.

Experience with the impact of taxes on the financial statements.

Professional experience with OneSource tax provision or other equivalent tax provision software.

Previous experience with ERP systems such as SAP and Oracle, and accounting consolidation tools such as HFM is beneficial.

CPA is desired.
