Job Title: Medical AssistantJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated and professional Medical Assistant to join a busy OB/GYN or women's health office in West Hartford. This position plays a crucial role in assisting physicians with all patient interactions and ensuring a high standard of care. The role is essential to providing seamless patient experiences within a large and dynamic healthcare organization.

Responsibilities

Assist physicians with all patient interactions including rooming patients and taking vitals.

Communicate with patients by calling them to explain test and lab results.

Contact pharmacies regarding patient medication questions and refills.

Participate in scheduling appointments and managing patient inquiries.

Essential Skills

Medical Office Experience

Experience as a Medical Assistant with a willingness to obtain CMA/RMA certification within 6 months

2-3 years of experience in a similar role

High School Diploma or equivalent

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience in Women's Health or OB/GYN is a plus

Experience in call center or scheduling appointments

Work Environment

The work environment is a busy and high-volume office within a large OB/GYN practice. The organization values professional appearance, requiring employees to wear scrubs and closed-toed shoes, with no piercings allowed. The position requires strict adherence to an 8 AM start time, with a 40-hour work week, including one late night per week until 6 PM, occasionally as late as 7:30 PM. The organization is part of a large women's health network with over 85-90 locations, offering potential for upward mobility and growth. The use of modern technologies, including Electronic Medical Records, ensures improved information accuracy and coordinated care.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hartford, CT.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr.
