This position works within our Division of Operations administration. R esponsible for financial processes through the use of financial enterprise systems or spreadsheets to organize information. Prepares a variety of complex disbursement forms (e.g., check requests, travel forms, cash sheets, and journal entries) for routing and approval. Explains fiscal rules and procedures to employees to ensure uniform application; prepares transfer vouchers and interfund billings. Prepares a wide variety of accounting forms/ reconciles accounts payable. Identifies discrepancies and makes corrections; prepares expense vouchers and/or invoices; orders goods or services and follows up/resolves discrepancies and ensures delivery. Ensures appropriate routing and approval of purchase requests.

Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of standard rules and interpretations within own functional area and a working knowledge of established methods and procedures used in related areas;

Ability to perform data entry into Purchasing/Logistics Enterprise Resource Planning systems and/or Financial Enterprise Resource Planning systems in at least three functions (e.g., create shells, accounts payable processing).
Employment Standards
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education, experience and training equivalent to (https://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/hr/equivalencies-education-and-experience) high school graduation and two years of experience providing administrative support in the assigned functional area(s).
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation - CPR certification (Required within 60 days)
AED certification (Required within 60 days)
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check, a Child Protective Services Registry check, and a sanction screening to the satisfaction of the employer.
This position is emergency/essential services personnel. (Required to report for duty during inclement weather and/or other emergencies.)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Three year or more years of experience in financial setting.
Experience utilizing SAP (FOCUS) or other related system executing transactions.
Three or more years of experience with employee travel (local and non-local), paying invoices and managing purchase orders.
Three or more years of experience reconciling detailed financial information between data sources and resolving errors.
A bility to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and communicate the status of pending work.
Desire to work in a team environment providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
Experience with file management.
Proficiency in the use of basic Microsoft Office Suite and other software applications.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Job is generally sedentary in nature; however, job requires walking, standing, sitting, kneeling, reaching, bending, and climbing stairs; uses hands to grasp, handle, or feel. Employee may be required to lift or carry up to 25 lbs. occasionally. Visual acuity is required to read data on a computer monitor; ability to operate keyboard driven equipment and computer. Position frequently communicates and must be able to exchange accurate information with others verbally and in writing. Generally works in an office environment yet may occasionally be required to perform job duties outside of the typical office setting. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
