This position will perform general ranching, farming, irrigation and maintenance duties. Duties will include Repair, maintenance and cleaning of farm and irrigation equipment in preparation of the growing season. Install and remove irrigation pipe, and frequently moving pipe. Irrigate crops using pivot irrigation and flood irrigation. Ongoing maintenance of irrigation equipment and overseeing operation of irrigation pumps. Drive trucks, side by side, and other farm implements in support of planting, cultivating, and irrigating of farm related crops. Frequent bending to pick rocks. Use hand tools to maintain farm machinery including tractors, pickups, tillage, spray, pumps and other irrigation equipment. Work outdoors in adverse weather conditions as needed. Maintain accurate irrigation records Workers may assist with air seeder, combine equipment and GPS operated equipment. Worker will be required to work odd/long hours and split shifts from May-Oct during irrigation and harvesting season. End of season repair, maintenance and cleaning of farm and irrigation equipment. Worker may be exposed to snakes or other predators. Extensive walking, stooping, pulling, pushing and must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 100 pounds. Worker's will be requested to run and perform basic maintenance on equipment (all is in excellent condition) during planting and harvesting time at both locations including: Side by Side, Tractors with air seeders and other implements, Sprayer. Worker will need to know how to drive to haul grain or silage, No CDL required.
