As a Medical Records Clerk, your responsibilities will include:

Medical Chart Management:

Retrieve medical charts for healthcare staff and clinicians as requested.

File all in-use medical records daily and ensure the security of both active and inactive medical records.

Documentation Oversight:

Ensure charts are counter-signed by physicians and reviewed for completeness.

Release medical information under the direction of the Medical Records Supervisor, Medical Director, or Health Services Administrator.

Administrative Support:

Answer telephones, take messages, and make necessary calls.

Type letters, reports, and memorandums.

Maintain a roster or appointment book for on-site and off-site patient appointments.

Inventory Management:

Order, receive, and maintain office supplies as required.

Additional Duties:

Perform other duties as assigned to support healthcare operations.

Key Qualifications

Educational Background:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:

Minimum of one (1) year of experience in medical records management.

Familiarity with the Problem-Oriented Medical Record (SOAP) system is essential.

Other Requirements:

Successful completion of a background check, security clearance, and drug screening.
