Purpose
Under the direction of the Project Manager, Senior Engineer, Engineer III, Engineer II, the Engineer I is responsible for support of transportation and infrastructure project execution and the inspection and documentation of various construction engineering projects including various @types of civil engineering.
Responsibilities
Leadership and Direction
Receive general instruction on key objectives for Receive direction and guidance from senior level engineers as needed, and especially on difficult assignments and possible solutions. Work is completed using standard engineering techniques and design principles and is reviewed by more senior staff to ensure application of sound professional judgement.
At times, independent engineering decision making is needed, depending on tasks
At the Operational and Company Level
Work closely with more senior members to learn about and assist with construction engineering
Assist with the marketing of the firm's capabilities to establish new clients and enhance
Do the Work
Read and comprehend contract drawings, standard drawings, and
Identify, report and document construction activities in compliance or not in compliance with contract
Measure, document, and calculate quantities of project work
Gather data and make decisions based upon engineering
Write technical reports to document daily construction

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related engineering discipline required at time of
Entry level position, no prior experience Any professional experience is a plus.
CPM scheduling knowledge and estimating abilities
Desire to learn construction engineering principles, techniques, and procedures.
Flexibility to work inside or outside at any given time of the
Willing to work at a remote job site for long durations.
Basic understanding of the material properties of soil, aggregates, concrete, and bituminous
Experience with Microstation, AutoCAD and Civil3D strongly
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering exam

Occasional outdoor work environment which may include adverse weather conditions, varying temperatures, excessive noise, and/or potential hazards.
Mobility around a job/construction site to include walking, bending, crawling, climbing, squatting, or kneeling and wearing of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Frequent and prolonged use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Primarily local travel during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be required according to the needs of the business.
