We are looking for an experienced COMMERCIAL / INDUSTRIAL SENIOR ELECTRICAL ESTIMATOR in our Columbus, OH office location. The ideal candidate will prove and/or coordinate all aspects of estimating services for electrical project estimates

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Review specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid and project site meetings, etc. to accurately determine the full scope of work and required content of estimates.

Review, identify and compile relevant historical data that subsequently can be used in the preparation of all estimates.

Manage the estimating process from beginning to end and provide appropriate input, technical support and supervision to other estimating staff members involved with assigned estimates.

Ensure all bid documents and data are updated and maintained at all times to support assigned estimates. Communicate with clients/engineers/architects, as required.

Manage the vendor and supplier solicitation process to ensure appropriate scope and pricing is obtained and analyzed accordingly.

Review all assumptions used in the estimating process to ensure appropriateness with established Company estimating policies and procedures.

Review all aspects of the final estimates for accuracy and completeness prior to submission.

As required, prepare all schedules necessary for bid preparation.

Prepare value engineering and other cost saving initiatives, as appropriate.

Assist with all business development efforts including the preparation and presentation of estimates to potential clients.

Actively support and participate in, as appropriate, Company business development initiatives.

Ensure all applicable Company safety policies and procedures are considered and incorporated into the preparation of every estimate.

Prepare detailed cost budgets, as necessary, for successful estimates and participate in client negotiations when required.

Monitor successful electrical projects so as to be completely aware of actual construction means, methods and costs factors.

Prepare all required estimating data necessary for the preparation of change orders and other project documents.

Assist with the collection and maintenance of historical cost data from completed projects and update files accordingly.

Manage the preparation of all necessary documents needed for the project turnover process and attend scheduled meetings.

Have a complete working knowledge of the Company's computerized estimating systems and ensure they are utilized appropriately at all times.

Have an understanding of all Company policies and procedures and support accordingly.

Prepare estimating reports, as necessary.

Identify areas of concern and develop strengths within current estimating team.

Maintaining subcontractor/Vendor database

Prepare Request for Prequalification's (RFPQ's)

Assume any additional duties and responsibilities as delegated by Sargent Electric Management.

SKILLS:

A minimum of a four year electrical engineering degree or equivalent is preferred as well as 5 years' electrical estimating and construction experience in related industries.

A demonstrated knowledge of electrical estimating techniques, engineering disciplines, and computer/cost control/budget systems is also necessary as well as the ability to interpret computerized cost data.

Must be able to prepare complex estimates with minimal supervision.

The position requires someone who is detailed oriented, analytical, organized, is able to meet established deadlines, has strong management and communication skills, and works well in pressure-@type situations.

Project field experience is also preferred.
