Description

We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team in New Orleans, Louisiana. This short-term contract to permanent position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and growing organization. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting financial operations, assisting with internal reporting, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Responsibilities:

Prepare detailed journal entries and perform account reconciliations, including payroll, cash, and prepaid expenses.

Conduct monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for accurate management reporting.

Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, including preparing financial close workbooks.

Implement and maintain compliance with internal controls and accounting procedures.

Manage fixed asset ledgers, depreciation schedules, and reconciliation processes.

Handle intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliations effectively.

Analyze financial data and prepare reports that are clear and actionable.

Maintain capital lease records and monthly payment schedules.

Support external audits by preparing schedules and documentation for quarterly and annual reviews.

Participate in department-wide initiatives and contribute to ad hoc projects as needed.

Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics preferred.

Minimum of two years of accounting experience in a detail-oriented environment.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office programs.

Experience with accounting software such as NetSuite or Blackline is a plus.

Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.

Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication abilities.

Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet critical deadlines.

Familiarity with corporate tax, sales tax, and general ledger management.
