About Richmond State Hospital :
Richmond State Hospital is about the people we serve and the community relationships we have developed, dating back to 1890. Richmond State Hospital is a public behavioral health facility operated by the state of Indiana and one of six state psychiatric hospitals within the Family and Social Services Administration Division of Mental Health and Addiction. As part of a newly integrated system of state psychiatric hospitals, we serve consumers across the state as the Eastern Center of Excellence in Mental Health and Addiction Services.
Nestled in northwestern Richmond, our beautiful campus provides a quiet and peaceful environment. RSH has been a state leader in evidenced-based medication prescribing to both reduce the risks associated with polypharmacy and optimize clinical outcomes. The hospital clinical and medical leadership collaborate with the unit treatment teams to provide the most contemporary and comprehensive care possible.
Salary Statement:
The salary for this position traditionally starts at $29,588.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.
A Day in the Life:
The essential functions of this role are as follows:
Plan cleaning schedules and coordinate staff housekeeping schedules.
Establish work rules to ensure regulatory compliance with the Indiana State Department of Health, OSHA, and other regulatory agencies.
Coordinate and supervise temporary services for additional manpower.
Develop annual budget requirement for cleaning materials and equipment.
Responsible for ordering and purchasing materials and supplies from vendors.
Prepare, maintain, and submit various housekeeping and office reports.
Conduct inspections of housing for clean, safe, and sanitary conditions.
Prepare and coordinate work requests for repairs.
Recruit, select, onboard, and train employees to ensure role responsibilities and expectations are clearly understood while providing opportunities to continue professional development.
Set expectations, measure progress, provide ongoing feedback, and evaluate the performance of employees. Ensure work adheres to quality standards, deadlines, and proper procedures.

What You'll Need for Success:
You must meet the following requirement to be considered for employment:
Must hold and maintain a valid Indiana driver's license.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with the public, contract workers, co-workers, subordinates, and supervisors.
Thorough knowledge of housekeeping methods, procedures, materials, equipment, and sanitation standards.
Ability to delegate work, set clear direction, and manage workflow.
Ability to effectively give feedback, provide guidance or corrective action, coach, and develop employee skillsets.
Ability to conduct inspections of facilities.
Ability to make reports and maintain records and files.
Ability to inventory supplies and equipment.
Able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:
This role may provide direct supervision for one or more staff members.
