We are seeking a Director of Government Accounting to join the Collins Aerospace team. This role is part of the Government Accounting and Controls team and is positioned within the Collins Aerospace Controllers office. This is a leadership position over an organization with ~35 individual contributors and leaders. This role is the primary subject matter expert for Government Accounting activities supporting ~30 CAS segments.
This individual can work remotely, or in a hybrid capacity if located at one of our RTX locations.
What You Will Do:
Provide strategic and technical leadership to the team responsible for:
Interpreting and applying Cost Accounting Standards and FAR Parts 30/31 and associated DFARS regulations; implementing required process changes to algin with industry or regulatory policy updates
Maintaining multiple Disclosure Statements, including cost accounting practice change evaluation, cost impact analyses, reserves, and resolution
Developing Government forward pricing rate proposals using processes to remove unallowable cost and translate GAAP basis budgets to a CAS basis; negotiating forward pricing rate agreements; monitoring actual performance against proposed/negotiated rates
Establishing provisional billing rates and compiling analyses to support reserves for rate true ups on cost reimbursable contracts
Compiling incurred cost submissions and settling final rates
Supporting USG review and audit of deliverables above plus audits of CAS and elements of Accounting and Estimating Systems
Supporting company initiatives such as acquisitions and divestitures, the SAP S4 enterprise implementation, and Collins transformation
Maintaining pertinent policies, tools, and controls to ensure compliance
Represent Collins with USG oversight agencies (DCMA, FAA, DCAA); resolve compliance concerns/issues
Partner with business on compliant and feasible solutions to evolving business and regulatory environment
Represent Collins Government Accounting on RTX committees
Serve as primary Government Accounting and Controls liaison with the Collins strategic business units
Travel 10%
Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 14 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 12 years of experience
Knowledge of CAS/FAR/DFARS/TINA
Experience in working with US Government oversight agencies (DCAA/DCMA)
Experience in Government accounting deliverables (Disclosure Statements, Incurred Cost Submission, Forward Pricing Rates)
Qualifications We Prefer:
Mixed military/commercial environment
Cost accounting skills (ability to interpret and apply regulations in a various environments, and appreciation of adjacent Finance processes)
Experience briefing senior leaders on accounting and compliance matters
Experience driving process improvements and supporting large initiatives

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). The salary range for this role is 176,000 USD - 352,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
