JOB SUMMARY

Leads and coordinates inter-agency and multidisciplinary response on criminal cases, specifically sexual assault, domestic violence, and elder abuse through Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) case staffings. Facilitates groups and provides other clinical, advocacy, and support services to victim of crimes in order to reduce traumatic impact, help victims recover from victimization, and assist victims through criminal justice system and post-adjudication. Provides administrative services in support of clinical and program functions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Master's degree from an accredited college or university in social work or other closely related field

Currently licensed as a CSW, Certified Social Worker, by the State of Utah.

Due to the nature of this position, the successful applicant must successfully pass an initial criminal background check as well as every two years thereafter and continuously meet the requirements of the Bureau of Criminal Information (BCI).

Must possess a valid Utah Driver's License to operate either a personal or Salt Lake County vehicle.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Develops inter-agency and multidisciplinary teams to facilitate teamwork, collaboration and cooperation for the benefit of victims on criminal cases.

Facilitates regular multidisciplinary team staffing's; coordinates the implementation of case action plans with allied agencies to ensure follow through.

Conducts post-adjudication outreach to victims of crime. Completes intakes and assessment with victims of crimes, their families, and significant others to identify potential needs and screen for services.

Utilizes victim-centered, trauma-focused and evidence-based practice to reduce trauma and provide support to victims and family members, including children and adolescents, as they participate in the criminal justice system or at the conclusion of their case.

Facilitates therapeutic support groups for issues common to crime victims (i.e. complicated grief reactions, trauma, PTSD, domestic violence, and abuse).

Assists victims develop resiliency and skill-building following victimization and involvement in the criminal justice process.

Responds to crises and trauma reactions and provides trauma debriefing.

Makes referrals to additional support services as clinically appropriate.

Provides input and consultation to multidisciplinary team regarding victims' needs and abilities including but not limited to level of functioning, family dynamics, trauma, co-existing mental health issues and cultural competency. Contributes clinical insight and accurate information regarding the effects of trauma and advocates for victims.

Makes appropriate collateral contacts with other agencies serving the same client, coordinating information and services to meet the physical and emotional needs of victims, their families and significant others.

Contacts victims on current cases going through MDT staffing process to address immediate needs and ensure they are adequately supported through various transitions in the case process.

Coordinates the involvement of allied agencies involved with criminal investigations and services to victims; maintains calendar and and schedules team case reviews as needed.

Performs administrative and support functions as required.

Develops and maintains agency agreements and training of multidisciplinary partners.
