About the unit

The Emergency Unit has 18 beds. It is a level 3 trauma center with a variety of both adult and pediatric patients. We are primary stroke certified and a bariatric center of excellence.

Scope of work

Nurse Technicians act as a team member in the delivery of quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).? Responsibilities include taking vitals, checking blood sugars, bed bathing, ambulating, wound care, catheterization and acting as a safety attendant for patients.?Cleans patient's environment / work area / equipment and communicates any equipment malfunctions to appropriate department / unit personnel. Demonstrates a high standard of moral and ethical behavior. Advocates for privacy, confidentiality and security of patient, staff and organization data.

Qualifications

Required High School Diploma or equivalent.

Basic Life Support (BLS) Cert required within 90 days
