Field Sales Manager
The Field Sales Manager is responsible for managing internal customers and facilitating communication. The position will work closely with the National Account Manager, Director of Sales and/or Sales VP to support sales strategies and tactics to increase retention and growth of customer base by going out in the field and interacting with customers.
Essential Functions
Achieve/exceed annual case and revenue sales performance goals, pricing target goals and forecast accuracy targets.
Interact daily with growing the Niagara business.
Go out in the field to visit/ interact with customers.
Align Niagara goals with the customer, and execute based on these needs.
Work with NAM, Director of Sales, and/or Sales VP on developing and achieving annual account plan and account specific case, revenue, and penetration.
Manage preparation and execute business reviews, drive new business growth through identification of new business opportunities
Manage preparation of account specific business plans with NAM/Director and/or Sales VP
Weekly plan and execution visits and prioritized execution plan
Work closely with NAM, Sales Director or Sales VP on understanding internal goals and executing specific programs that meet Niagara and customer sales objectives
Achieve successful new Item startups.
Manage startup project with all internal Niagara departments (PLM process).
Facilitate all communication with NAM/ Sales Director and/or Sales VP during startup process and during the process
Identify opportunities at the customer level and create solutions for success, and resolution. Communicate that resolution internally and externally.
Manage regional sales reporting responsibilities.
Manage process of developing and distributing necessary internal sales reports (Cognos/Cube Data)
Optimize use of customer reporting tools and proprietary systems.
Execute opportunities for improvements in operational efficiencies, service levels, and operational points of difference at all assigned customers thru education and sell in.
Manage all customer communication necessary for making proposed change.
Manage all escalation in service level concerns with NAM/ Sales Director or Sales VP
Manage all internal day-to-day.
Facilitate internal communication with Transportation, Planning, Customer Service, Sourcing, Accounting, Legal, and Manufacturing.
Examples: label compliance, design change, new packaging rollout, account receivable help, new item rollouts, service level opportunities, etc.
Facilitate quality questions/resolution, audits, and other sales related quality requests.
Assist with customer level documentation requests for promotions, special items, etc.
Customer level specific bid support and new item rollout.
