What You Will Do
The Supply Chain & Logistics Division is seeking a Deputy Group Leader to join the management team of the Production Supply Chain Group (SCL-3). Production Supply Chain provides warehousing and procurement support for ALDWP operations, including TA-55, CMR, RLUOB, and TA-22 Detonators. The group manages multi-faceted activities including procurement, supply chain engineering, storage, warehousing, and PPE, ensuring mission-critical operations run smoothly.
SCL-3 ensures materials and services are purchased, tracked, and delivered on time, supporting Weapons Production operations.
As Deputy Group Leader, you will help lead the technical and operational aspects of t this dynamic team, drive operational excellence, integrate customer relationships, and support continuous improvement initiatives, making a direct impact on the success of weapons production operations.
Duties (but not limited to):
Working cohesively with the division office leadership to develop a strategic and tactical plan for the group, mentor and develop direct reports, standardize business practices and training, and establish metrics and KPIs to measure performance.
Planning and championing cross-organizational process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and mission success.
Build and develop a data-driven approach to performance management and risk management.
Developing communications that convey internal performance, risk management elements, and continuous improvement opportunities.
Implementing Integrated Safety Management (ISM) responsibilities by integrating safety into all tasks, pausing/stopping work as necessary, modeling exemplary behavior, fostering open communication, engaging workers in the field, recognizing positive behavior, and addressing deficiencies through accountability.
Overseeing first-line management responsibilities by guiding a high-performing team, aligning group priorities with organizational vision, and supporting staff development and recognition.
Ensuring quality products and services while balancing productivity goals with adherence to regulatory and organizational standards.
Maintaining daily communication with employees and subcontractors to encourage reporting of errors, system weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement.
Enabling effective communication to the division, ALD, customers, and suppliers.

Functionality
Thorough knowledge of and demonstrated experience managing business operations to include financial, human resources, performance, procurement and/or other related business activities and experience providing customer service.
Demonstrated ability to analyze problems, identify root causes and develop and implement improvement strategies.

Warehouse Operations
Proven experience managing warehouse logistics and day-to-day operations, including receiving, inspecting, controlling, transferring and delivering material to multiple nuclear facilities.
Previous experience developing storage and distribution models that include factors such as warehouse locations, customer locations, or available transportation modes to maximize operational efficiency or sustainability.
Proven ability to monitor and maintain inventory levels of products or materials in warehouse.
Experience tracking and tracing items while they are in route to their destinations, expediting orders when necessary.
Proven ability to maintain high levels of accuracy in daily operations.
Leadership
Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary teams of technical and professional staff in a highly regulated technical environment.
Successful experience leading a group or team to execute programmatic work or mission supporting work including managing cost, scope, and schedule to meet established milestones.
Demonstrated experience planning, organizing, leading, and monitoring team efforts in a data driven environment.
Demonstrated experience providing effective communication and continuous feedback to further develop staff and ensuring proper team and individual recognition and appreciation.
Demonstrated experience proactively assisting others in achieving the organization's objectives.
Proven ability to recruit, mentor, and retain technical and professional staff.

Advanced computer skills including proficiency with Inventory Control, Material Tracking systems such as the CBOM, as well as software suites including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Access).
Demonstrated experience in data analytics to evaluate processed performance, identify requirements, and provide data-driven reports and reccomendations to group leaders and support FLM's.
Education/Experience:
Position requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited institution and 5 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience in providing briefings and/or stand-up instruction in an operational environment.
Knowledge of regulatory and Laboratory requirements related to nuclear facilities.
Detailed knowledge of Laboratory practices polices, and procedures specifically relating to controlled storage, spare parts management and procurement.
Knowledge in key interface areas supporting nuclear facilities operations at TA-55, including but not limited to criticality safety, radiological protection, safety basis, industrial safety, physical and information security, environmental compliance, NQA-1 requirements, Conduct of Engineering, high hazard operations, waste management, analytical chemistry, and metal operations.
Experience preparing and reviewing technical information, developing metrics and presentations.
Experience with business operations to include financial, human resources, procurement and other related activities and experience providing customer service.
Knowledge and experience applying complex, integrated and overlapping requirements for nuclear, manufacturing and/or production facilities to include buy not limited to weapon quality and nuclear safety.
Knowledge of and experience with the Associate Lab Director for Weapons Production (ALDWP) programs including technical and operational disciplines.
Active DOE Q clearance.
Work Location: The work location for this position is hybrid and is located in Los Alamos, NM. Hybrid is defined as working partially onsite/partially offsite but within 2 hours ground commute of this location. All work locations are at the discretion of management and can change at any time with appropriate notice.
Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the time required, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader. The position commitment for this position is 1 year.

Additional Details
Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2. Clearance: Q (Position will be cleared to this level).
