Accounts Payable Specialist

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Grandview, Washington. In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing financial transactions and ensuring accuracy in accounts payable processes. You will collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to maintain efficient operations and uphold compliance standards.

Responsibilities:

Manage the accounts payable process, including invoice verification and payment approvals.

Perform three-way matching to ensure purchase orders, received goods, and invoices align accurately.

Enter data into the accounts payable system, process transactions, and maintain organized financial records.

Prepare, print, and distribute checks in accordance with established approval procedures.

Handle payments and batch transactions, ensuring proper file transfers to the bank.

Assist with accounts receivable tasks, including entering receivables into the system.

Proactively identify and address issues within the system to improve accuracy and efficiency.

Maintain effective communication with vendors and internal teams to resolve discrepancies.

Ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations.

Support other financial tasks as needed to contribute to the smooth operation of the department. Requirements - Proven experience in accounts payable processes, including invoice coding and payment processing.

Strong understanding of account coding and financial recordkeeping.

Familiarity with Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions and check runs.

Proficient in performing three-way matching for purchase orders and invoices.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned tasks.

Effective communication skills to collaborate with vendors and team members.

Knowledge of accounting software and systems is preferred.
