Summary DLA Piper is seeking an Associate to join our Tax practice group beginning in Fall 2026 in our Boston, Washington DC, Los Angeles, New York, Palo Alto, San Francisco, or Seattle offices. This opportunity is open to current Tax LLM students expecting to graduate in Spring 2026. As an Associate in our Tax group, you will work on complex domestic and international tax matters, including:

Corporate transactions

Strategic tax planning

Tax controversy and dispute resolution

You'll collaborate closely with partners and senior attorneys on high-profile client engagements across diverse industries, gaining hands-on experience in sophisticated tax issues. What we're looking for:

Strong interest in tax law

An undergraduate degree in business is preferred

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Excellent analytical and communication skills

Essential Job Expectations While the specific job requirements of a DLA Piper position may vary depending upon scope of the job and area of specialty, there are certain universal requirements that are expected of all DLA Piper employees, which include but are not limited to:

Engage in both physical and sedentary activity, such as (a) working at a computer for extended periods of time, including on-screen reading and typing; (b) participating in digital/virtual conference calls; (c) participating in meetings as needed;

Ability to work under pressure and manage competing demands in a fast-paced environment;

Perform all other duties, tasks or projects as assigned.
