We are searching for the best talent for VP, Next GEN CAR-T Manufacturing
Purpose:
There is no overarching programmatic leadership coordinating CMC, Process Development (Project Evolution), and the commercial CD20 project, leading to fragmented planning and a high probability of misaligned scale-up timing and commercial robustness. This newly created role will be the cross-functional E2E Program Lead with authority over all technology and site workstreams. They will also define integrated governance and milestone synchronization across CMC, PD, Evolution and CD20.
The VP will lead the strategy, design, and implementation of a next-generation manufacturing platform utilizing automation and robotics to produce a new innovative CAR-T Cell Therapy product. This executive will be accountable for establishing a cross-functional governance structure that connects Manufacturing, R&D, Quality, Supply Chain, and Commercial functions to ensure seamless program execution from concept through commercialization.
The VP will ensure that all development milestones are achieved as it pertains to the commercial GEN 3 Investment's Key Event Map, that risks are identified and mitigated, and that Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are developed and tracked to drive transparency and performance across the organization. This role will also serve as the primary program interface for ATSC with senior leadership, providing clear communication on progress, challenges, and strategic decisions.
You will be responsible for **:
Strategic Leadership of the CD20 Program**
Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for a new automated and robotic manufacturing platform aligned with company goals and product pipeline needs. This will be done in close partnership with R&D colleagues and leveraging the Pilot Plant investment in GEN 3 Technology that JNJ is making.
Establish long-term vision and roadmap for CAR-T manufacturing technology innovation and scalability.
Lead the team that will design, build and start up two state-of-the-art GEN 3 CAR-T facilities to serve the US and EMEA market respectively.
Serve as the accountable leader for the end-to-end program lifecycle, from feasibility through full-scale production.
Program Governance & Cross-Functional Leadership
Build and lead a cross-functional program governance framework linking Manufacturing, R&D, Quality, Supply Chain, Regulatory, and Commercial functions.
Define clear ownership, communication, and decision-making structures to enable efficient alignment and execution.
Drive accountability for achieving those GEN 3 development milestones that are needed for implementation into commercial setting, managing dependencies, and addressing cross-functional issues.
Performance Management
Define and implement Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for program performance, including safety, quality, schedule, cost, and innovation metrics.
Develop and manage progress dashboards and reports for internal and executive-level communication.
Continuously assess performance and resource allocation to optimize outcomes and mitigate bottlenecks.
Stakeholder Communication and Management
Act as the primary liaison between technical teams and senior management.
Provide regular updates to the executive sponsors on program progress, risks, and mitigation strategies.
Communicate strategic implications of program decisions on commercial timelines and company objectives.
Leadership
Leads the people strategy for an organization of approximately 50 employees across all levels of the organization.
Builds and develops diverse, high-performance teams with a strong sense of mission
Drives culture of development and inclusion in line with J&J's credo and leadership imperatives. Actively creates space for diverse viewpoints.

Qualifications / Requirements:
Deep understanding of GMP manufacturing processes, automation systems, and robotics integration.
Strong leadership and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Exceptional organizational, planning, and program management abilities.
Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate challenges and drive pragmatic solutions.
Excellent communication skills-capable of synthesizing complex issues into clear executive summaries.
Familiarity with GMP, Quality Systems, Regulatory Compliance, and Product Lifecycle Management in pharma/biotech.
Advanced degree in Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related technical field; MBA or equivalent preferred.
Minimum 15+ years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, process development, or technical operations.
Proven track record leading complex, cross-functional manufacturing platform development programs, preferably involving automation or advanced manufacturing technologies.
Demonstrated experience in managing large capital projects and integrating new technologies into regulated environments.
