Transdev inMilwaukee, WI is hiring an Assistant General/Operations Manager. The Assistant General/Operations Manager will support the General Manager in operation of the Milwaukee Streetcar.

Key Responsibilities:
Assures and promotes a safe working environment; ensures compliance with local, state, federal, company, and contractual policies, procedures, and regulations.
Provides leadership, guidance, and first-line supervision to location employees; ensures company policies and procedures are followed.
Coordinates daily transit operations, including dispatching, in-service monitoring, turn-in activities, and manifest accuracy and timeliness.
Manages Dispatch and Operator schedules, validates pay hours, and maintains employee attendance systems; processes vacation requests and uniform orders.
Assesses resource needs, operational problems, and performance trends and develops plans accordingly.
Develops action plans to ensure customer satisfaction and provides effective communication with customers.
Establishes training goals and requirements for all personnel; coordinates with the Safety & Training Manager to meet all safety goals, directives, and recordkeeping requirements.
Monitors and evaluates operations performance, including on-time performance, missed runs, customer complaints, accidents, road calls, revenue/cost data, and other operational metrics.
Oversees operator recruitment, selection, and training in coordination with the Safety Manager; assists with hiring processes and administers discipline when required.
Satisfies all client, corporate, and contractual reporting requirements; completes all required daily/weekly reports.
Assigns manifests and documents assignments manually and in the required computer systems; updates and maintains dispatch information.
Assists in accident/incident investigations, including on-site support for safety and training personnel.
Communicates job requirements and expectations to staff; provides coaching, guidance, and performance feedback.
Capable of performing duties in other departments in the event of a vacancy.
Performs other management duties or directives as required, including maintaining necessary licensure to drive or operate vehicles when needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Logistics, Railroad Management, or related field preferred
5+ years of supervisory or management skills in a similar position
Knowledge of relevant federal and state employment laws
Ability to deal with state and local government
Ability to manage cost control and financial/ budget experience
Ability to organize and perform work efficiently. Strong attention to detail
Ability to navigate Labor Relation issues and work effectively with union partners
Must be able to work flexible work schedule as needed
Physical Requirements:
Sit for extended periods (up to 6-8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces
Lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level
