Construction Surveyor - Hyperscale Data Center
Position Summary
We are seeking an Augmented Reality (AR) Construction Surveyor to bring digital design models into the field with engineering-grade accuracy. Using a ruggedized AR headset integrated with 3D BIM, you'll overlay models on active jobsites to guide layout, validate installation, detect clashes, and track progress-reducing rework and accelerating delivery on major projects (including data centers).
Responsibilities
Perform on-site holographic visualization, aligning model geometry to physical conditions.
Guide layout and installation to model-intended locations with millimeter-level precision.
Execute quality assurance inspections to catch deviations/clashes in real time.
Track progress vs. plan; update status, quantities, and handover documentation.
Collect and report field data (deviations, risks, RFIs) for design and construction teams.
Operate AR hardware/software in offline conditions; manage device calibration and updates.
Collaborate with superintendents, MEP coordinators, BIM managers, and trade foremen.
Qualifications
Field surveying or layout experience in commercial/industrial construction.
Proficiency with BIM models (coordination views, discipline overlays) and model-based layout.
Comfort with AR/VR or advanced field tech; strong spatial reasoning and attention to detail.
Knowledge of construction tolerances, MEP pathways, embeds, and structural interfaces.
Strong communication and documentation skills; safety-first mindset.
Ability to work primarily in the field; travel to regional/national projects as needed.

This is a Permanent position based out of Ellendale, ND.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $85000.00/yr.
