Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to join our team in Cardiff by the Sea, California. This is a contract position where you will play an essential role in managing financial records, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and maintaining accurate accounting processes. Responsibilities:

Prepare and review corporate tax returns to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations.

Manage sales tax filings and ensure timely submissions.

Record and reconcile journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.

Oversee the general ledger, ensuring all accounts are correctly updated and balanced.

Assist in analyzing financial data to support business decisions and reporting.

Conduct audits of financial statements to identify discrepancies and resolve errors.

Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.

Provide support during tax season by preparing necessary documentation and reports.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and accounting standards.

Generate periodic financial reports for management review and decision-making. Requirements - Proven experience in corporate tax preparation and compliance.

Strong knowledge of sales tax regulations and reporting requirements.

Proficiency in recording journal entries and managing general ledger accounts.

Familiarity with corporate tax returns and related processes.

Attention to detail and ability to analyze financial data accurately.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Strong communication skills for collaboration and reporting.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
