Northrop Grumman's Space Sector is looking for a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team as a Senior Principal Supply Chain Subcontract Specialist - Level 4 to support our proposal and subcontract activities by managing a diverse portfolio of suppliers and securing specialized goods and services essential to our programs' success. Your contributions will be instrumental in achieving program goals while ensuring compliance, efficiency, and risk management throughout the subcontract lifecycle.
This is a full-time, on-site position at our Redondo Beach, CA location. We offer a 9/80 Alternate Work Schedule, giving you every other Friday off to support work-life balance while pursuing innovation in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
In this critical role, you will play a key part in driving our Ground Enterprise Systems (GES) subcontracts execution and proposal capture activities, including supporting Internal Research and Development (IRAD) efforts, Customer Research and Development (CRAD) initiatives, and Internal Work Orders (IWOs). You will also lead efforts contributing to major proposal preparations in response to diverse customers' Requests for Proposals (RFPs). Proposal capture activities are at the heart of Northrop Grumman's growth strategy, serving as a foundation for our business success and providing unparalleled opportunities for cross-functional collaboration and visibility with sector and corporate leadership.
Key responsibilities include:
Supplier Evaluation, Approval, and Performance Monitoring: Conduct thorough supplier vetting and qualification processes to align with company policies and program requirements, and monitor supplier performance to ensure quality, reliability, and adherence to schedules.
Subcontract Management: Lead all pre-award and post-award subcontract activities, including drafting Requests for Proposals (RFPs), negotiating terms, issuing subcontracts, managing changes, validating invoices, and closing out subcontracts.
Cross-Functional Collaboration and Contractual Agreements: Work closely with internal stakeholders to finalize Statements of Work (SOWs) and material specifications, and draft agreements such as Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), Teaming Agreements, and Bailment Agreements to meet program needs.
Compliance and Ethical Procurement: Ensure strict adherence to public laws, company policies, import/export regulations, and flow-down clauses while upholding high standards of procurement integrity and ethical business practices.
Process Improvement and Cost Management: Continuously refining processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, mitigate risks, and drive program success, while implementing strategies to optimize cost savings and reduce supplier-related risks.
Employee Training and Material Support: Conduct professional training sessions for employees to support team development and assist in documenting material receipt and property management activities to maintain compliance and accuracy.
This role requires exceptional organizational, negotiation, and communication skills, as well as a commitment to excellence and collaboration. As a Subcontract Administrator, you'll be an essential partner in delivering innovative solutions while strengthening the foundation of our global supply chain operations.
Basic Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree with a minimum of 8 years (master's with 6 years) of subcontracts, contracts, supply chain, logistics, or other relevant experience. Or in lieu of a degree, 12 years of subcontracts, contracts, supply chain, logistics or other relevant experience.
Demonstrated familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS).
Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Top-Secret/SCI security clearance with Polygraph.
Preferred Qualifications:
Active Top Secret or SCI Clearance with Polygraph, enrolled in a continuous evaluation program.
Proficiency with SAP Business Management Software, including the ability to generate purchase orders in compliance with all applicable requirements and conduct peer reviews of pre-award and pre-audit purchase orders.
Demonstrated experience working with the U.S. Government, which represent the primary customer base for this role.
Primary Level Salary Range: $117,500.00 - $176,300.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
