Summary You will serve as a AIRCRAFT MECHANIC in the Industrial Execution Department, Production Trades Division of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST. Responsibilities You will install, repair, overhaul, modify, align, troubleshoot and perform final functional and operational tests on a variety of major aircraft systems, their components, assemblies and proto@types You will inspect, disassemble aircraft systems, assemblies, parts, or components to determine the required parts, reassemble and reinstall on aircraft. You will assist in the operation checkout of the aircraft. You will use a wide variety of precision measuring instruments i.e., calipers, protractors, snap rings, height and depth dial indicators, micrometers, and hand tools, i.e., hammers, torque wrench, etc., to accomplish and complete your assignments. You will be called upon to perform various other tasks as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION ???????I have the ability to perform the most difficult and complex tasks including: 1) Facilitate production using judgment and analysis in areas such as determining work time, preparing and implementing procedures, detecting bottlenecks, making and interpreting reports, keeping records; 2) Interpret technical data, and making computations.
