GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
Attracts, evaluates, and refers candidates for craft and trade, technical, exempt, and nonexempt positions through recruiting website, employee referrals, on-site recruiting, search firms and other sourcing methods.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Attracts, evaluates, and refers candidates for craft and trade, technical, exempt, and nonexempt positions through recruiting website, employee referrals, on-site recruiting, search firms and other sourcing methods. - Understands requirements for technical positions, develops job advertisements and screens resumes/applications. - Contacts candidates to ascertain fit, and schedules interviews. - Extends offers and negotiates compensation. - Initiates onboarding plan for new hires. - Manages areas of responsibility to ensure positions are filled efficiently and effectively.
Coordinates participation in career fairs at college and high school levels.
Administer social media accounts including postings and managing comments/remarks.
Create and maintain accurate, up to date recruiting metric reporting for all levels of management.
The ability to handle stress and work well with others are essential functions of this position.
Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
Serves as primary contact for candidates after offer of employment is extended. Responds to vendor requests regarding pre-employment screening, testing, or background check processes. Communicates frequent status updates to candidates and hiring managers.
Coordinates post-offer pre-employment drug and alcohol testing, request and reviews background checks and motor vehicle records. Schedules fit for duty assessments and DOT physical exams.
Prepares and presents presentations for new hire orientation to include general cooperative history, programs and procedures, management guidelines and employee self service tools.
Supports the development, interviewing and onboarding of summer internship program.
Due to our obligation to provide continuous, reliable electric service to our customers, the ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance and the ability to work outside your regularly scheduled office hours when necessary is an essential function of the job.
Maintain awareness of and compliance with applicable laws and regulations from various regulatory entities, internal policies, procedures, and directives. Ensure ongoing monitoring and timely incorporation of any changes to maintain adherence to compliance standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES CONT'D
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or GED, plus up to 4 years of human resources recruiting experience. - Has strong interpersonal skills: listening and communication. - Has strong oral and written communication skills. - Has strong Microsoft Office proficiency. - Has effective organizational skills. - Proficient in using applicant tracking systems and other HR software.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid driver's license.
PREFERRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in business administration or related field - Professional Human Resources (PHR) - Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP)
