Job Description:
Student Counseling Services at Iowa State University is seeking an Administrative Assistant II who brings a steady, welcoming presence to a busy student-focused environment. In this role, you will assist students with check-ins, appointment scheduling, and general inquiries, helping them access services with clear information and a supportive first point of contact. You will also contribute to the administrative and logistical work that keeps the center operating efficiently, including outreach materials, event preparation, and routine office processes.
This position offers a meaningful blend of student interaction and behind-the-scenes coordination. You'll work with a team that values reliability, strong communication, and organized systems, while also having space to manage your own tasks independently. What You'll Do
Assist students with check-ins, appointment scheduling, and front-desk communication
Support daily office workflows, documentation, and organizational procedures
Prepare outreach materials, track event participation, and coordinate logistical details
Maintain records, surveys, and basic data reporting
Communicate with students, staff clinicians, and campus partners as needed

May provide supervision to one to two other staff or lead a small work team
