Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Property Accountant on a temporary basis to support a multi-property Real Estate company in West LA. The role will focus on financial statement preparation, month-end closing, tenant billing, and compliance. You will collaborate with our internal property management team as well as third-party management companies.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including variance analysis.
Manage tenant billing, rent collection, and delinquency reporting.
Maintain and reconcile general ledger entries; oversee robust month-end closing procedures.
Reconcile bank statements, maintain cash management protocols, and monitor property cash flow.
Ensure strict compliance with GAAP, company policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Review, allocate, and reconcile Common Area Maintenance (CAM) charges.
Perform consolidations, including eliminating entries for intercompany transactions.
Support the Director of Accounting on special projects and ad hoc assignments.
Maintain amortization and depreciation schedules for property assets.
Requirements
Minimum 5 years of experience in property accounting, ideally within multi-family residential or commercial real estate.
Proficient in Yardi property management software.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
Able to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Prior experience partnering with third-party property management companies preferred.
