JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position Summary Want to experience the rewards of
providing care to Wisconsin veterans? This professional nursing position
is responsible for providing direct and indirect patient care to a
mostly geriatric and/or disabled population. The Nurse Clinician 2
provides direction to other staff in the provision and coordination of
member care, and monitors care given by other health team members on a
unit, floor, or in a building. All activities are performed in
accordance with applicable industry standards of practice, facility
policy/procedures, and facility and governmental rules and regulations.
Job Details Our Nurse Clinician 2 positions work on all three (3)
shifts; AM, PM, and NOC (overnight) and we have part-time and full-time
positions on campus. Candidate preferences are gathered at the time of
interview. Our greatest need is currently on the PM shift. All part-time
and full-time, Nurse Clinician 2 positions work multiple shifts,
weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed. Job duties require the
ability to assist in mobility efforts, stand and/or walk up to 75% of
eight-hour day to provide assessments, kneel, stoop, make visual
observations, lift, push, pull, carry, reach, maintain hygiene, use
special safety equipment, and wear protective clothing. Employment in
this position is contingent upon passing a pre-employment tuberculosis
(TB) skin test. Due to the nature of the positions, WDVA will conduct a
criminal background check on applicants prior to an offer of employment.
A 12-month probationary period is required. ** OTHER EXPERIENCE
AND QUALIFICATIONS: Minimally qualified applicants will: Be licensed or
eligible for a license as a Registered Nurse in the state of Wisconsin
or a Nurse Licensure Compact state (e.g., having a Wisconsin Registered
Nurse License, graduation or soon to graduate from an approved school of
nursing and waiting to take examination, took examination and waiting
for license, etc.) Additional required and preferred training and/or
experience that will be assessed later in the selection process are:
Providing nursing care (e.g., assessing and documenting patient status,
clinical experience, providing direct and indirect patient care,
administering medication and treatments, investigating, and solving
problems, directing activities based on patient needs, etc.)
Administration of medication and treatments Using electronic technology
& applications (e.g., computer, email, word processing, internet,
electronic charting systems, medication & treatment administration
record etc.) Working collaboratively (e.g., establishing positive
relationships, working on a team, interpersonal relationships, etc.)
Organizing and prioritizing (e.g., time management, task importance,
etc.) Leading (e.g., interdisciplinary healthcare teams, developing and
implementing care plans, training individuals, correcting behaviors,
assisting, and mentor staff, etc.); and/or Relevant setting (e.g.,
