Summary You will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN) (PROJECT MANAGER) in the TECHNICAL SUPPORT DIVISION (CODE 109.1), INFO TECHNOLOGY & CYBERSECURITY OFFICE at PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD. Responsibilities You will serve as a Senior System Administrator, responsible for Information Technology (IT) hardware and software components owned by Portsmouth Naval Shipyard (PNSY). You will plan, coordinate, manage, and execute the integration of complex systems, ensuring their interoperability and oversee the maintenance of all supporting software. You will design and develop the network, server, and storage infrastructure required to support applications. You will implement cybersecurity requirements timely and accurately. You will train or arrange for the training of team members in methods and techniques of teamwork, coaching the team in selecting and applying appropriate problem-solving methods, and representing the team in dealings with supervisors. You will serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all activities related to IT system platforms developed for and used by PNSY. You will identify, distribute, and balance the workload among employees, according to the established workflow and skill level. You will coordinate with senior management on new support procedures and innovations. You will consistently analyze existing processes and procedures to recommend improvements. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying new IT developments and applications, emerging technologies and their applications to automated technical data management systems, project management principles, methods and practices, including developing plans and schedules, estimating resource requirements, defining program milestones, monitoring contractor activities, and evaluating test and software integration efforts sufficient to ensure the integration of the IT program. Experience developing solutions to software integration and interoperability issues. Experience with a wide range of Information Technology techniques, requirements, methods, and procedures in support of all end devices, servers, storage, virtualization, backup/recovery, operating systems, Active Directory, networking, software and associated hardware. Experience providing expert technical recommendations to management and other technical specialists on critical system administrative support issues.
