The Minnesota Board of Marriage and Family Therapy (Board) is responsible for protecting the public through effective licensure and enforcement of the statutes and rules governing the practice of marriage and family therapists. Its mission ensures a standard of competent and ethical practice.

The Board is seeking a Complaint Coordinator to provide case management of the Board's complaint-related case load to ensure efficient handling of complaints filled with the Board. This includes but is not limited to:

Conducting investigations into complaint allegations

Writing clear and concise reports, summarizing findings, identifying issues and making appropriate recommendations

Assisting Board members in analyzing complaints filed against applicants and licensees of the Board

Coordinating Complaint Review Panel meetings, including preparing agenda, uploading and managing documents, and completing all tasks as determined by the Panel

Drafting correspondence and complaint related documents

Responding to telephone and written inquiries regarding complaints, complaint-related processes, and ethical and regulatory questions

Managing administration of various Board meetings

Providing administrative and financial support

Performing other duties as assigned by the Executive Director

Minimum Qualifications

To facilitate proper crediting, please ensure that your resume clearly describes your experience in the areas listed and indicates the beginning and ending month and year for each job held.

One year of experience in one or more of the following areas: analytical writing, complaint review and investigation, case management, regulatory compliance, or administration/quality assurance of licensure processes.

Legal and/or technical knowledge sufficient to interpret and apply statutes and administrative rules.

Analytical skills and the ability to discern relevant facts, determine what information is missing, organize diverse facts and materials into logical, cohesive summaries and reports.

Strong communication skills to write clear and concise correspondence and draft legal notices and orders and communicate effectively with co-workers, regulated professionals, legal counsel and the public.

Ability to present ideas persuasively and establish trusted professional working relationships.

Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, OneNote and Excel).

Ability to maintain confidentiality and private information according to law, rules, policies and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in health services administration, counseling, public health, criminal justice, pre-law, or a related field.

Experience or working knowledge of law and processes governing the licensing and regulation of health care professionals.

Organizational skills and the ability to handle daily multiple responsibilities including managing multiple cases in various stages of review.

Ability to quickly gain knowledge of agency specific technology, processes and relationships with several external partners.

Ability to successfully interact with diverse audiences including under stressful and time sensitive situations.

Ability to work interpedently and in groups.
